About Chef Dominique
Chef Dominique Macquet is a Mauritian-born chef known for his globally inspired cuisine rooted in French technique and tropical flavors. Trained in South Africa and seasoned by travels across Asia and Latin America, he gained international recognition after preparing the first official meal for Nelson Mandela following his release from prison.
Macquet made his mark in the U.S. with the acclaimed Dominique's in New Orleans, blending Creole, French, and island influences. After a post-Katrina move to Houston, he returned to open Dominique's on Magazine, continuing his mission to elevate local ingredients with global flair. He is also the author of Dominique's Fresh Flavors.
